About our products.

Our fresh products are harvested to order when in season.  Some products such as Rosemary and Hydrangeas are grown here on the farm.  Most of the fresh products are harvested from the forests by harvesters for whom this is their lively hood.  We hate to give a harvester a pick order of less than 200 to 400 pounds because they wouldn’t receive enough money for the order  to cover their time, gas money and permit expenses. Having said that, we often can combine smaller  client orders with those needed for our own production.

The Fresh forest products listed are the most popular.  However if there is some other forest product that you are looking for please give us a call.

Our dried products are harvested at their prime stage of growth for drying (which is different from that for fresh or preserving).  The product is bunched and hung in a dark dryer where it is dried with dehumidified hot air.  This process minimizes color fading often associated with dried products.

Our preserved products are preserved with 99.7% kosher vegetable grade glycerine.  We have two methods of preserving: Systemic and immersion dyeing, and we indicate which method is used in the detailed product description.  After preserving (replacing the plants’ water with glycerin and dye) we dry our preserved products in the same manner as our dried products (described above).  This insures that our products are fully preserved and that our customers are not buying a lot of water.  The preserved product is then grading to assure our customers that they will receive a uniform high quality product.

We have a wider selection of preserved products than those presented on this web site.  We are also always trying new things in search of new products.  So if you don’t see what you are looking for please give us a call.
